The Parish Church of St. George
The church dates back from Norman times and was built/rebuilt in 1115, the date when Henry I signed the charter granting certain churches to Salisbury Cathedral. St Georges being one of them. The Chancel was lengthened in the 13th century and in the 14th century the Trinity/Jervoise Chapel – now known as The Lady Chapel was built. The Tower mostly 19th century is probably on the site of the original tower. William Butterfield led its dramatic restoration in 1873-4.
