The Parish Church of St. Thomas a Becket

By the source of the River Till, deep within Salisbury Plain, lies Tilshead with an interesting church of which the most noteworthy feature is its massive 13th century tower set in the middle of the building but lacking the transepts of a cruciform church.  The nave is 12th century with massive square piers and plain arches.  There is a Norman Font  The church is faced with the combination of stone and flint characteristic of the Wiltshire chalk country.
