The Parish Church of St. Matthew

The little church of S.t Matthew has a perpendicular tower, but the remainder was largely rebuilt in brickwork in 1812. The old decorated (1245 – 1360) windows have been preserved on north side of nave. Note early English font with Norman base, good 16th century bench ends and some old glass in chancel depicting the Virgin and Child and the Crucifixion. (The Little Guide 1949, Methuen)
