The Parish Church of All Saints
Passing upstream beyond Amesbury is All Saints church at Netheravon. It once consisted only of what is now the west tower with projections north, south and west, and a chancel to the east, all probably of the eleventh century. During the twelfth century the present nave was added on the east, retaining the old tower to serve as a belfry. This west tower standing upon its four arches, once the nave of the primitive church, is a rarity in this country.
