St. Peters Church – History and Information

The Parish Church of St. Peter

In the softer country north of the downland extends the Vale of Dauntsey, threaded at its western end by the upper reaches of the Bristol Avon.  A little north of Chippenham is Langley Burrell, with its attractive church set in trees.  The building illustrates in detail all periods of architecture from the 12th to the 15th centuries.  Much of the exterior is battlemented and the sturdy tower on the south side completes a perfect picture of a typical village church.
