The Parish Church of St. John the Baptist

The church is a neat structure with a square tower containing five bells.  The interior contains several monuments to the Freke family.  There is a chapel of ease at Hannington Wick.

(Hanna’s Hill) lies on the Gloucestershire border from which county it is divided by the Thames, here but a small stream. The church (St. John the Baptist) stands alone among the fields and is approached by an avenue of trees. It is an Early English building with a Perpendicular tower and a Norman South doorway and contains monuments to the Freke and Hussey-Freke families.  Hannington Hall is a fine Elizabethan mansion.  (The Little Guides 1949, Methuen).
