The Crown, A342

This pub is steeped in history.  Prisoners were transported from the local dower house by way of a quarter mile tunnel to Judge Jeffreys’ Courthouse from where it was only a short journey to the nearby gallows.  It was often frequented by smugglers, poachers and falconers.
