The Parish Church of St. Michael & All Angels

The church of St. Michael and All Angels is in the centre of the village; the War Memorial is in the churchyard near the lychgate, and the parish pound just outside.  To the north of the churchyard, beyond the Yew Trees planted in 1845 by Thomas Kimber, the Parish Clerk at the time, lies the Donkey Field, named after donkeys Jack and Jane, owned by the village carrier, Widow Rideout in the mid 19th Century. She appears in the 1851 Census aged 84 as a common carrier.
