First Welcome to all new members of the website and to all settled members thanks for your continuing interest and support.
Going forward in 2026 we have a few issues with the website to sort out. Hopefully these will be easy fixes and not too costly. The webmaster has some innovative ideas which we will disclose once we can start working on them. We are also looking to some funding via available grants. We are just hoping that we qualify and meet the criteria required.
In the meantime we will keep working away to add new items of interest. It would be nice for new OPC’s to come on board and adopt a parish. You don’t need to live in the county or even in the UK. We are an online presence so anyone, anywhere in the world could join us and make a difference. We are always looking for anyone to join us as OPC’s Transcribers, Admin Task Holders etc.
We are continuing to build the We Will Remember Them project we are at present working our way through records for service personal with Wiltshire connections for 1915 we seem to be adding on average ten names per Alphabetical letter. It is a very slow process. These will appear on Facebook and on the website calendar as and when the anniversary of their loss occurs. If anyone knows of missing Wiltshire connected soldiers please get in touch with Martin Barrett or myself (Teresa Lewis).
We still have the Just Giving page open for volunteer donations. All monetary gifts are used for maintaining the website the more traffic and members we get the more the site costs us to keep it online.
On a personal note am waiting for cataract removals so my computer time is being limited at present but am certain once I get them done then I will be firing on all cylinders once more. I am still doing short periods of time dedicated to the website but by the time I do the daily tasks I don’t have too much time left to do much more but I try so please be patient with me.
Please keep visiting the website and our Facebook page. The discussions on Facebook can be quite enlightening.
It remains for me to end with hope for the future and world peace. We all know what is happening around us at the moment and no matter what your opinion or interest is, we all need stay safe and live our lives to the best of our ability.
