This Day in History: 1872-12-31

1872 – Wilton – EDITH MAUD OLIVIER was born, she was one of ten children of the Canon of Wilton, Dacres Oliver.  She received the M.B.E. in 1920 for services with the Women’s Land Army.  She was the first women to be elected to Wilton Town Council and was Mayor 1938 – 1941, she died at Wilton 10 May 1948.
