This Day in History: 1838-05-30

1838 – Alderbury – CHARLES WILLIAM FRY,  bricklayer, musician and Methodist lay preacher was born.  He became associated with Methodism aged 17, eventually becoming a member of the Salvation Army, and its first national bandmaster.
