This Day in History: 1957-06-03

1957 – Box – CLIVE ANDREW MANTLE, was born in Barnet, Hertfordshire.  He has lived in the parish for some time.  He is best known for roles in Casualty and Holby City and as Little John in Robin of Sherwood, much of which was filmed in the county.  One of the funniest scenes he was in was that of wandering hand in hand along a puddle ridden pathway with Dawn French as Geraldine Granger in the Vicar of Dibley when then decide to jump in the puddles, with the starry-eyed vicar jumping into a puddle that turned out to be a rather deep water filled pot-hole
