This Day in History: 1906-06-01

1906 – Swindon – A tram mainly carrying visitors from the Bath & West Show held at Old Town, Swindon, was subject to brake failure and crashed killing four people and injuring 30 others.  The victims were from all over the West Country.  A full account and list of those injured may be found on the Swindon page of the website.  Those who died in the disaster are named in the We Will Remember Them Calendar
