Augustus Putin, born in Bermondsey, Architect and driving force behind the 19th century Gothic Revival, – Pugin married three times and in 1833 he married as his second wife, Louisa Burton (or Button), In 1835 he moved his family to Wiltshire, where after purchasing land in Alderbury he built his first house, St Maries Grange which still stands today though altered in design from the original. He moved to Ramsgate in 1841, and died 14 September 1842
