The Parish Church of St. Mary (Old and New Churches)

There was a good deal of comfortable re-furnishing of churches during the Georgian era; so much of their work was swept away by Victorian Gothic restorers; those examples of Georgian church interiors which may remain are of value to us today. Within the 15th century shell of the parish church at Old Dilton, close by Westbury, the whole of the Georgian furnishings may be seen. There is a three-decker pulpit overlooking family and ordinary pews, itself overlooked by galleries to west and north. This church is now in the care of the Churches Conservation Trust.         Old St. Mary's Gallery
