The Parish Church of St. Martin
St. Martin's in Church Street serves the south east quarter of the city - Milford, Petersfinger, the Friary and Exeter Street. The church pre-dates the modern city; its chancel is Salisbury's oldest building - it may even date from Roman times when Old Sarum was a fortified city and this was a "St. Martin's in the Fields."
