Contacting OPCs

Written by

To Contact an OPC or Administrator you will need to be registered with the site and to be logged in to your account

Before making contact with an OPC please look through this article to make sure you are contacting an appropriate person to help with your query.

New OPC's

When an OPC is new to a parish, their status on page will say that they are gathering resources.  When the OPC feels they have sufficient information and resources, their status will change on the page and they will then be happy to receive inquiries.  While you are waiting for an OPC to 'go live' you may still contact them but they may not be able to help you right away.

OPC Groups

Occasionally, a Group (i.e. local history group) may act as Consultant OPC for a parish.   They are willing to share their research and deal with enquiries for that parish - even if they may not have published items to their page.

Look Ups

A volunteer may offer to do Look-Ups for a parish - i.e. they may have access to information for the parish which they are willing to share, but will not necessarily be publishing items to the page - this will be the responsibility of the OPC for the parish when the parish is adopted by a volunteer.

Advisors

If a parish is covered in part by a Special Advisor, they will be pleased to help with enquiries solely within their branch of expertise.  They are unable to deal with general enquiries for the parish.

Please remember that, in all cases, the people involved with the Wiltshire OPC project are volunteers and may need a little time to reply to inquiries.  Many have full or part time jobs, families, other commitments, etc.  In the unlikely event that you do not receive a reply from an OPC within two weeks from your enquiry, please contact Teresa Lewis (Senior Administrator)

Vacant Parishes

Where a parish has no OPC in place, there are several things you could do - firstly contact Teresa Lewis (Senior Administrator) who will gladly add your specific research inquiry to the Research Support page.  Of course if you have researched in a particular parish and have gathered information over the years or maybe you have just got a few bits and pieces you could share then perhaps you could consider becoming the OPC for that parish (details on becoming an OPC can be found on the front page of the site) or you could contact Teresa Lewis who will add the items you donate to the relevant pages.

Consultants

Consultants probably have a link to their own website for a parish.  It is unlikely that they themselves will add items to the parish pages they cover but are willing to assist with queries etc.

Technical Staff

Please be aware that Richard Cresswell who is the web master is unable to assist with anything other than the technical side of this website.  He is not responsible for any of the content.  Any complaints about parish pages (other than technical issues) should be referred either to the OPC for the parish or to the Administration team.

Administration Team

Teresa Lewis is senior administrator.  John Pope and Paul Henly are website administrators.  Please contact any of them with enquiries or issues other than technical problems.

Thank you.
