So you've found the website useful and you'd like to contribute? That's great the more people we have helping us the better we'll become. There are many different ways you could help depending upon your location, your time availability and your skills. Here are some of the ways you could help:

If you are a keen photographer you could help take photos. We need a photo of every Church in the County. It would also be nice to have photos of other key monuments and areas of beauty. Some of out OPCs live in other parts of the world so they would be especially glad of this help. John Pope has been taking many photos for the site so you may like to co-ordinate with him. Teresa is the person to contact to get your photos put on the site.

If you live locally but photography isn't your thing you could help by transcribing gravestones. A certain amount of information is provided by burial records but gravestones often can provide crucial information about family members. If you would like to get involved in this way contact the OPC to make sure they haven't started doing this already, if there is no OPC we would be grateful to receive your work.
If you have access to any historical documents of interest you could help by transcribing them and donating your transcriptions to us. Although there is a strong emphasis upon parish records they are not the only documents of interest. We have things like school logs and business directories. If you're not sure check with us first but if it is of interest to future generations I'm sure we'll be glad to receive it.

If you have any old family photos that you are able to scan in we would love to receive them to go in the image galleries. Photos really help to bring the past to life and they make a real difference to the site.
Finally you could decide to take responsibility for a parish and become an OPC. To find out more about this see the article 'What is an OPC'
