Chippenham parish is made up of several churches, information about the churches can be found here.

The County Record Office for Wiltshire was moved to Chippenham from Trowbridge in October 2007 and is situated in Cocklebury Road (SN15 3QN) just beyond the town's railway station.

If travelling by train, come out of the station forecourt and turn left. Walk along the road (on the opposite side from the further education college) past the point where the road bends to the right, and the Wiltshire & Swindon History Centre is on your left just after the bend.

If travelling by car (and there are lots of free parking spaces - at least 50! - in the History Centre's own carpark) follow all signs to the railway station. If coming from the M4 junction 17, take the A350, following signs to the town centre past St. Paul's church on your left then under the railway arches taking signs to the station and finally turning left up Station Hill past the station and to the Centre about 500m further on, on your left. If coming from other parts of the town, again, follow signs to the town centre, then the railway station and travel beyond the station to find the History Centre on your left as above.

The History Centre has its own website where all sorts of information giving directions, opening hours, entry requirements and even an online catalogue can be found. Please note though that the Centre is open for a full day on Saturdays but is closed all day on Mondays. The phone number is 01249/705500.
