The Parish Church of St. Mary, St. Katharine & All Saints

The most perfect of Wiltshire's monastic churches is that of Edington lying under the northern escarpment of Salisbury Plain.  Far smaller in scale than Malmesbury Abbey, the church was consecrated in 1361.  The whole building is of the one period and forms a perfect example of a small monastic church of its age.  Its heavily battlemented exterior gives it the appearance of being fortified.  The interior of the building is very graceful.  It contains some mediaeval tombs, those at the west end having been salvaged from Imber Church (now derelict in the middle of the artillery ranges of Salisbury Plain).  Priory church is often used for music festivals.                Sts.
